Getting Started

CalcFinals helps you figure out what score you need on a final exam to reach a target class grade.

To get started, add a class, enter your current grade, choose your goal grade, and enter how much your final exam is worth.

Tip: Use percentages for your grades and final exam weight. For example, if your final exam is worth 20% of your class grade, enter 20.
How to Calculate the Score You Need

Enter these three pieces of information:

  • Current Grade: your grade before the final exam
  • Goal Grade: the final class grade you want
  • Final Weight: how much the final exam counts toward your class grade

CalcFinals will calculate the score you need on the final exam to reach your goal.

Example: If you have an 88%, want a 90%, and the final is worth 20%, CalcFinals will show the score needed on the final exam.
How to Simulate a Final Exam Score

The simulation feature lets you enter a possible final exam score and see what your projected class grade would be.

This is helpful when you want to test different outcomes, such as:

  • What happens if I get an 80%?
  • What happens if I get a 95%?
  • Can I still reach my target grade?
Adding and Customizing Classes

CalcFinals lets you add the classes you need and customize their names so your finals plan matches your real schedule.

You can use class names like:

  • Algebra II
  • English
  • Biology
  • History
  • Spanish

Class names are only used inside the app to help you stay organized.

Saved Information

CalcFinals saves the information you enter so you can come back later and pick up where you left off.

This can help you track your classes throughout finals week without re-entering the same numbers every time.

Privacy note: Saved class and grade information is stored locally on your device. It is not sent to Glass Developing or uploaded to a server.
Quick Goals

Quick goals let you test common target grades faster. Instead of typing every goal manually, you can quickly check what you need for common grade targets.

This makes it easier to compare different outcomes and plan your finals strategy.

Dark Mode

CalcFinals supports Dark Mode and adapts to your phone’s appearance settings.

This provides a cleaner, more comfortable design for late-night finals planning.

Privacy and Data

CalcFinals does not require an account, does not display ads, and does not use subscriptions.

CalcFinals does not connect to PowerSchool, Google Classroom, school portals, or any school system. All grades and class information are entered manually by the user.

You can read the full privacy policy here: CalcFinals Privacy Policy.

Troubleshooting

If a result does not look right, check the following:

  • Make sure the current grade is entered as a percentage.
  • Make sure the goal grade is entered as a percentage.
  • Make sure the final exam weight is entered correctly.
  • If the final is worth 20% of your class grade, enter 20, not 0.20.
  • Check that the correct class is selected.
Note: Some goals may already be secured or may be out of reach depending on your current grade and the final exam weight.
